A short sale is when the lender or bank agrees to accept less for the property than is currently owed on the mortgage. Sellers and buyers alike can benefit from a short sale. 

When a seller is in default of their mortgage and can no longer afford to stay in their home, a short sale is a viable avenue to explore. This is a better alternative for the seller than having the home foreclosed on by the bank. A short sale enables a seller to protect their credit, move forward financially and possibly
purchase another home in as early as two years! 

For a buyer, purchasing a home on short sale can potentially mean acquiring more home within their given budget. This can be an exciting purchase.
